It is a modern electronic 'solid state' replacement for the original electromechanical
'CVC' regulator units on Classic Motorcycles equipped with dynamo

The first of these niches is the Dynastart as fitted to many classic lightweight 2, 3 and 4 wheelers (as well as some watercraft).
